EMDR therapy is designed to help people get over their past trauma, with EMDR therapists are trying to process through old memories to find any unresolved emotions that may be holding you back from healing and moving on with your life
What does EMDR treat?
EMDR therapy can be used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. It can also help with early childhood abuse.
How many sessions of EMDR will I need?
The number of sessions you need will depend on the severity of the trauma and what you are trying to work through in therapy; EMDR is a short-term therapy; my average sessions with clients are 6 to 10 sessions.
